A Renaissance Reclaimed book launch - RSA Dublin

Wednesday 30 March 2022, 12.30PM to 2 April 2022

There will be a Prosecco reception hosted by CREMS, with the generous support of the British Academy, to mark the publication of 'A Renaissance reclaimed: Jacob Burckhardt's Civilisation of the Renaissance in Italy revisited' by the British Academy in conjunction with Oxford University Press.

The volume is co-edited by Stefan Bauer, a former Marie-Curie postdoctoral fellow at York and current research associate of CREMS and Simon Ditchfield (director of CREMS, 2018-21). The volume originated in a conference held in London in 2018 to mark the bicentenary of the birth of the Swiss 'Father of Cultural History' Jacob Burckhardt (1818-1897) at the British Academy, which was organised with the additional support of CREMS and of the Society of Renaissance Studies.

Anyone interested should contact Simon Ditchfield at simon.ditchfield@york.ac.uk
