in which CREMS staff members will share some of their experiences of building an academic career...

The Cabinet of Curiosities is excited to present The Garden of Wysdom - an event designed to give postgraduates (and particularly those thinking about an academic career) the chance to speak to members of staff about the realities of life and work in their field.

We're proud to have three speakers, Mark Jenner (History), Kate Giles (Archaeology), and Kevin Killeen (English) ready to share with students some of their own experiences, as well as taking part in a discussion about some of the common worries about embarking on life after the PhD. Do come along - this is a fantastic chance to meet people from other departments, as well as getting to talk about common worries in a light-hearted and supportive setting!

The Cabinet of Curiosities is the CREMS postgraduate forum, run by and for all PhD and MA students with an interest in our time-frame.  The organisers for 2013-14 are: Claire Canavan, Craig Farrell, Emily Hansen, Emma Kennedy, Chris Knaack and Robin MacDonald.
Contact them by emailing: curiositycabinet2010@gmail.com

Location: Heslington Hall H/G17

Admission: Open to CREMS Postgraduates of all kinds
