Seventeenth-Century Gothic

Wednesday 16 May 2012, 2.00PM to 6pm

Speaker(s): include Simon Bradley (Editor, Pevsner Architectural Guides, Yale University Press), John Goodall (Architectural Editor, Country Life Magazine), Olivia Horsfall Turner (English Heritage) and James Jago (University of York)

No moment in English architectural history has been more maligned by the prevailing historiography. This half-day symposium will look beyond the historicist notions of 'revival' and 'survival', and showcase new ways of understanding the presence of Gothic architecture beyond the middle ages.
