CRD research underpins international award

Posted on 3 April 2018

CRD's Predicting Infectious Complications of Neutropenic sepsis In Children with Cancer (PICNICC) project was key to Dr Gabrielle Haeusler gaining the Australian Victoria State Premier's Award for Health Services Research.

Dr Haeusler, of the Sir Peter MacCallum Department of Oncology and University of Melbourne, is working with Dr Bob Phillips of the Centre for Reviews and Dissemination to evaluate and implement the risk-stratification system developed by the PICNICC Collaboration. Her work illustrates how international partnerships can bring the dusty theories and mathematical models into making a difference to the lives of children being treated for cancers.
