Biography

Pippa Cooper joined the Centre for Applied Human Rights in 2015. She is the coordinator of the Centre's Human Rights Defender Hub which links CAHR’s various areas of HRD-related work. Its high quality research and knowledge exchange activities enhance the Centre’s Protective Fellowship Scheme for HRDs at risk.

Pippa has a BA in Modern Languages and an MA in Human Rights and is currently a PhD student in the Centre for Latin American and Caribbean Studies at the University of London. Her work focuses on memory practices in peace movements and in reconciliation following conflict and in particular the use of textiles for memorialising victims of human rights violations.
