Dutch parliamentarians to visit CAHR

Posted on 20 April 2016

A group of Dutch parliamentarians, from a range of political parties, will visit York on Thursday 12 May.

The trip is designed to highlight good human rights practice in the UK, and innovative ideas which might be relevant for The Netherlands. As part of the trip the group will spend a day in York hosted by CAHR, during which they will discuss a number of human rights-related innovations which have taken place in the city - these include the Fairness Commission, the campaign to have York recognized as a Human Rights City, and the visiting fellowship scheme for human rights defenders at risk hosted by CAHR. The parliamentarians will meet CAHR staff, City Council representatives, the North Yorkshire Police, and individuals leading innovative work in schools e.g. the York Human Rights City Network 'Opinionated' workshops.
