Alice Trotter

Education

Alice holds a first-class MA (Hons) in Geography from the University of Edinburgh, during which she focused on urban studies. In 2019, she graduated from University of York’s LLM International Human Rights Law and Practice with Distinction, having completed the group placement period with the Asia Pacific Refugee Rights Network. Alice then accepted an ESRC funded 1+3 doctoral studentship, and commenced study on the Social Research Masters in Autumn 2019.

Experience

Alice has experience working as a Research Assistant, and subsequently a Research Associate, on a range of projects, including legal analyses, literature reviews, and funding applications. Currently, Alice works as a principal member of the internationally funded, pluridisciplinary project ‘Noma, The Neglected Disease. An Interdisciplinary Exploration of Its Realities, Burden, and Framing’. Alice’s doctoral research has the provisional title ‘Architectures of poverty and inequality? A human rights analysis of the cities of York and Leeds’, and is supervised by Dr Ioana Cismas and Professor Paul Gready.
