My name is Patricia Turner. I am a qualified and experienced Social Worker and a qualified Practice Educator. I was brought up in London, and I am of Jamaican/Caribbean heritage. I started to lose my sight as a young girl and became registered blind in my late twenties. My specialities include working with families and ensuring that there is great awareness within the disability world. I am also a Samaritan, and I enjoy working in a person-centred way with other people of difference. My hobbies include keeping fit, learning about new technologies which is very helpful for people with sight loss i.e. Voiceover and AI, ballroom dancing and listening to music which is very therapeutic. I look forward to supporting the social work team within the practices of disability/equalities and carrying out interviews.
