Non-contaminated soil (i.e. with no chemicals or fertiliser and no restrictions on the microbes (i.e. not GMO, licenced pathogens or otherwise restricted) - can go in the black bin, landfill waste route.
Soil that might include proprietary fertilisers/chemicals can also go in the black bin, landfill waste route.
If the soil is contaminated with microbes (GMO, licenced pathogens or otherwise restricted) then the soil should be autoclaved. Small amounts may be autoclaved in the central A&G facility. Large volumes of soil should be autoclaved in the horticulture facility after discussions with the Horticulture Manager, Jason Daff.
