Ratings

You need to assign yourself a rating based on your assessment of your overall performance over the last year.

You must use one of the five agreed ratings:

  • excellent
  • good
  • satisfactory
  • needs some improvement
  • needs significant improvement

While a constructive and holistic conversation about performance is very important, a performance rating give clarity to this qualitative feedback and ensures that there is a clearer agreed outcome to the discussion. Some individuals may find it difficult to rate their performance in this way, but you can make an informed judgement using the information you have collected and recorded.

Your reviewer will also give a rating as part of the review discussion.

Staff working to short-term objectives

If you are a member of support staff using the short-term objectives form, you should do the same overall self-assessment exercise.

In addition, you will need to give a rating against each individual target and behaviour listed. The ratings scale is:

  • expectations exceeded
  • expectations achieved
  • expectations partly-achieved
  • expectations not achieved
