Keep up to date with campus disruptions

Lift broken? Footpath blocked? Sometimes there is development or maintenance work on campus that requires us to change some of the access routes in order to carry out work safely, and as quickly as possible.

We appreciate that this can be problematic, so we try really hard to plan major disruptions at quieter periods, as well as ensuring we communicate any changes in advance where possible.

There are a number of ways to keep up to date with disruptions on campus:

• View our disruption status web page
• Join the #dtef_disruption Slack channel (staff only)
• Email alert; email us at fm-helpdesk@york.ac.uk to be put on the mailing list
• We also regularly use the university’s main social media channels 

Sometimes the work is not ours and we are not aware of it before it starts. This is especially true around any of the roads, for example University Road, where contractors do not have to let us know if they will be working in the area. If we are aware of any works we will always try and keep you up to date.
