Clinical Teaching Fellow

Profile

Biography

I qualified as a nurse from the University of York with a BSc in Child Nursing in 2018, and have worked on the Children’s Ward and Assessment Unit at York Hospital since qualifying. In March 2022, I progressed to a Deputy Sister role on the unit, gaining invaluable leadership skills whilst continuing to develop my clinical knowledge and skills.

I was appointed to the University of York in January 2024 as a Clinical Teaching Fellow for Child Nursing, a partnership role between the University of York and York and Scarborough Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.

As a new role within paediatrics, it seeks to promote a strengthened partnership between the University and the Trust, as well as supporting students in both clinical practice and the academic environment. My time within the University will involve lecturing and leading seminars, while time in practice will include drop in sessions, bitesize skills teaching and support while students are on placements.
