Biography

I am a Departmental Academic and Communication Skills Lecturer based in the Department of Education. My specialisms are academic writing, assignment support and developing critical writing skills. I coordinate the Academic Skills for Education module, which is available for all taught postgraduate students.

Before joining the Department, I worked in the University’s International Pathways College and taught at several universities in Japan.

Overview

I am a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy and a Trinity Diploma-qualified Teacher of English to Speakers of Other Languages. I am a member of the British Association of Lecturers in English for Academic Purposes (BALEAP). I regularly attend and present at BALEAP conferences and have recently published an article in the Journal of Learning Development in Higher Education.
