Posted on 23 October 2023

Welcome to your student news summary of key things happening this week.

UoY community update

Fees and accommodation payment reminder - Tuesday 31 October
A quick reminder that if you pay your own tuition fees or accommodation costs, a payment instalment is due at the end of this month. The easiest way to pay is via the ‘My Finance’ section in e:Vision. If you have set up a direct debit to pay your fees/accommodation, this will be automatically taken from your chosen bank account around the due date and you’ll receive a notification of the amount beforehand.

***BUT be aware - scam alert***
We have been alerted to a scam at another university where students in campus accommodation have been targeted by scammers impersonating the university and asking for credit/debit card details. REMEMBER: We will never ask you for your card details over the phone. See our seven tips for spotting a scam..

Bus route updates
Did you know that the C1 and C2 are free intercampus shuttle buses? Note that from Sunday (29 October), changes to the C1 and 67 routes will come into place. See our information on changes to the C1 bus route or download the First Bus app to find out more about routes, timetables and prices for all bus routes in York.

ADHD medication shortage
Unity Health, the doctors’ surgery on campus, has made us aware that there is a national supply issue with medicines for ADHD. If this affects you, see NHS information about the national shortage of medicines for ADHD, which includes details of the medicines affected and how long the shortage is expected to last.
