Next vaccination pop-up clinic
The next vaccination clinic on campus is on Wednesday 16 March. Book an appointment to get a first, second or third dose.

1. Marking International Women’s Day

Celebrate this year's International Women's Day on Tuesday 8 March with events on campus and in York. Find out about climate feminism, India's feminist library, and take part in the Her-story Treasure Hunt to win EatShopDrink vouchers. Find out what’s happening for International Women’s Day.

2. Help with recognising your skills and experience

Apply for the York Award to help demonstrate to employers how you have taken a proactive approach to life at university. It’s a great addition to your CV, helping you to pull together and reflect on your experiences. Even if you think you’ve not done enough, applying for the York Award can help you think about the value and meaning in the things you have done during your time at York. Finalists apply before the end of Spring Term; penultimate year students can apply in Summer Term. Find out more about the York Award. And - first years - the last York Strengths Development Day session is on Wednesday.

3. Qualify to teach English to speakers of other languages

An intensive English language teacher course will run on campus Monday 20 June to Friday 22 July 2022. The Trinity Certificate in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (CertTESOL) is run by the Department of Language and Linguistic Science and is open to everyone. Discounted rates for students. Registration closes on Friday 18 March. Find out more about CertTESOL.

4. Win an iPad or £20 travel bundle

How do you travel to campus every day? Are there improvements that could be made? Tell us how you travel to University and around campus in our 2022 Annual Travel and Transport Survey. Simply complete the travel survey by midnight on Friday 25 March and you will be entered into a prize draw to win an iPad or a £20 First Bus ticket bundle.

5. It’s York Restaurant Week

York Restaurant Week is back! It is a celebration of York’s diverse food and drinks scene through the provision of unique set menu offers at discounted prices. Throughout the week, participating businesses will be offering fixed price menus from as little as £5! Download your vouchers for York Restaurant Week.

A note on… ‘Tell us’ student survey

Thanks to all who completed the latest ‘Tell us’ student survey. While we analyse last week’s results, we found out the previous week that most of you are feeling okay or hopeful about the future, but about a quarter are feeling anxious about life after graduating. Most worries are about feeling underprepared in choosing a career path and finding a job. See how the York Award can help you present the skills and experience you have and find out how Careers and Placements can help you develop your future plans.
