Welcome to your taught postgraduate student news summary of key things happening this week.

1. Get that dissertation done!

Our Writing Centre tutors offer one-to-one online or in-person appointments to help you with any dissertation questions you may have. They can look over a piece of work (up to 1000 words) and offer advice on argument, structure, and language.

You can also work on your writing and critical thinking skills with our upcoming online Academic Writing, Critical Thinking and Editing and Proofreading workshops – free for all students.

2. Analysing data or using statistical software?

The Maths Skills Centre offers one-to-one statistics appointments if you have any questions. Book an online or on-campus statistics appointment or email to arrange an appointment at a time that works for you.

3. PREVIEW: Take a sneak peak at Check-In

We’re introducing a new student digital engagement tool - Check-In - in September and we’re looking for current students to help us test it and give their feedback. Sign up for our online session on Monday 21 August by emailing It’ll last one hour and all participants in the session will receive a £20 voucher as a thank you for your time.
