Coronavirus: update summary

Vaccines on campus in June
There are plans for a pop-up Covid vaccination clinic on campus from mid to late June. We need to gauge interest to help with planning. Please complete the pre-registration form now using your york.ac.uk email address.

1. HOW TO: Book study spaces

We know this is a busy time so we have opened up lots more locations on campus where you can book a study space. Find out what you need to know about booking study spaces.

2. HOW TO: Manage stress

When we are placed under pressure - such as during exams and assessments - our bodies may respond by placing us in a ‘stress response’ mode, which can affect our ability to concentrate and sleep. Feeling stressed at times like this is entirely normal but there are ways we can control some unhelpful aspects of the stress response. See our tips for managing stress.

3. Paid opportunity to give academic skills feedback

The Academic Skills Community is offering a paid role to help promote workshops and gain feedback. Take part in a video recorded focus group and work on a series of videos explaining the six Academic Skills Community skills sets. Find out more about the role and see what’s on this week.

4. Get Graduate Ready

Would you like to find out more about your career options, including where and how to find graduate level jobs across a range of sectors? Are you keen to improve your ability to demonstrate your skills and experience in applications, CVs and interviews? Get Graduate Ready is an interactive career planning workshop on Wednesday 2 June that will help you plan your next steps after graduation. Book your place at Get Graduate Ready by the end of Wednesday 26 May.

5. Nominate staff in the Excellence Awards

YUSU’s Excellence Awards give students the opportunity to show their appreciation to staff across the University and thank them for their hard work. There are ten categories, including ‘Most inspiring’, ‘Unsung hero’, and - new for this year - ‘Outstanding Zoom Creativity’. Nominations close: Friday 4 June.
