Dr. Anna Feigenbaum is a Senior Lecturer in the Faculty of Media and Communication at Bournemouth University. Her book on the social history of tear gas is out with Verso in 2016. Her writing can be found in a variety of academic and media outlets including The Guardian, The Atlantic and Open Democracy.

Over the past 100 years tear gases have been deployed to lure soldiers from hiding, disperse protesters and quell prisoners. Looking at key moments in the history of tear gases, Anna Feigenbaum provides a behind the scenes look at the people and policies that came to make these chemical agents the most popular tool for law enforcement worldwide.
