Profile

Biography

I joined the PhD programme in the Department of Sociology in September 2024 under the supervision of Dr Edmund Coleman-Fountain and Dr Yener Bayramoğlu.

My research explores the experiences and spatial visibility of queer Pakistani individuals in Manchester, with particular attention to how visibility is negotiated across queer, public, and diasporic spaces. Drawing on feminist and queer standpoint theory, I use qualitative and ethnographic methods to examine how identities are embodied, represented, and made legible in different social and spatial contexts.

Education:
PhD in Sociology, University of York (full-time, in progress).
Master of Arts in Sociology, University of Manchester.
