In the BA process, I have been a game reviewer, writing the first-hand reviews for many games. After graduation, it became my job. I have worked for the gaming media Chuapp and written a series of in-depth reports about the phenomenon of sexual predation in children's gaming.

After that, I wanted to re-examine my work from an academic perspective; hence, I joined the University of York as a PhD student. My research focuses on video games and gamers. I want to understand how does video games as one of the most popular media affect every aspect of people's lives.

Overview

Yumeng's current work is about China's freemium mobile games. She would interview the player of freemium mobile and explore how does the experience of playing impact their daily schedule.
