Raised $2.75m. Sales from $3m to over $15m from 2005 through 2011.
WAVEMARK 2002 – 2004, CO-FOUNDER: Using RFID technology to collect and report real-time information in the medical supply chain.Successfully helped establish Wavemark gain first round of private equity and first customer.
OMNIVIZ INC. 2000 – 2002, PRESIDENT AND CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER: A private Battelle Memorial Institute-sponsored bioinformatics company (acquired by Biowisdom)Founding CEO. In-licensed visualization technology for life sciences. Obtained $6m private equity funding $5m sales & major collaborators: J&J, BASF and others.
ACCELRYS INC., (ACCL, NASDAQ) 1990 – 2000, SENIOR VICE PRESIDENT SALES & MARKETING: Accelrys is the leading provider of simulation and informatics software and services to R&D organizations in the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, and chemicals industries.Reporting to the President & COO. Responsible for revenues of $120m. Revenue growth over 30% pa. Five mergers and acquisitions. Transitioned to public ownership with market capitalization of over $2.4bn.
PTC, (PMTC, NYSE)1981 – 1990, DIRECTOR INDUSTRY MARKETING: World’s leading CAD/CAM provider. Responsible for discrete manufacturing and electronics industries sectors contributing over $250m sales.
PRODUCT MANAGER
Release of visionary RDBMS software in product data management and document management generating over $100m in sales. Foreshadowing the rise of companies such as Documentum and OpenText, to manage and integrate data and metadata unsuitable for standard relational model such as high dimensionality, extreme interconnectivity and exceptionally long transaction times.
SIMON ENGINEERING LTD 1977 - 1981, SOFTWARE ENGINEER
Wrote & implemented custom software to automate chemical and biological process design and costing.
SENIOR VALUE ENGINEER
Implemented Value Engineering methodology. Reduced costs and improved gross margin.
PROCESS ENGINEER
Designed biological and chemical processes for industrial waste treatment.

I developed programming skills and a solid understanding of biology.

Business skills: Harvard certificate program volunteer and work experience.

What I like most

I like the compensation, intellectual components, travel, and client interactions.

What I like least



What would I change? Get a Ph.D. and start my own company earlier so that I had more failures.
