My advice to students considering work
If applying for a Graduate scheme, really understand what the employer is looking for at each stage of the process. Use the firm's website and speak to their graduate recruitment team (it's their job to answer any questions you may have or to offer guidance!).
About this sector: Technology is going to be a major area of growth with in consultancy. Just read the financial section of newspapers online every day, you'll be amazed at how much you pick up about business from something so simple and it will be evident when it comes to interviews and assessment centres.

Technology is going to be a major area of growth with in consultancy. Just read the financial section of newspapers online every day, you'll be amazed at how much you pick up about business from something so simple and it will be evident when it comes to interviews and assessment centres.
What I do
Work on advising private / public companies as well as NGO's and governmental departments on how to increase efficiency, deliver a more streamlined process for customers and the firm, or advise on new ways to increase growth.
Day to day this takes the form of analysing data, taking part in interviews with clients, preparing PowerPoint slides to support your project, answering emails, devising innovative ways to delivery value to your client.
What I like most
You gain a great understanding of how various businesses work across a variety of sectors. Working with people who really understand how businesses work is a fantastic learning experience.
