The recruitment process

After I returned to Shanghai in 2008, I started to look for job from online job boards such as www.51job.com. To apply for my current role, first I sent out my application with my cover letter and resume, then I was shortlisted for a face-to-face interview with HR, followed by another interview with the management of the company. To assess my logical ability, I was asked to share my thoughts on the property price and property market.

My advice to students considering work

To prepare for their future career, students should get more work experience, for example by taking an internship.

What I do

As a corporate finance manager, I have to attract investment for the company's projects.

Skills I use and how I developed them



Degree skills:
With my masters degree in business and finance, I had developed some basic expertise about the financial industry, which I find useful at my current role.

What I like most

I enjoy solving problems and completing projects for my company.

What I like least

I have to spend a lot of time developing personal connections with different departments, therefore, I believe it is important to know more about the development of my company and industry.
