A day in the life of a Operation Exchange Management in China

How I found out about the job

Employer's website

The recruitment process

After making an online application on the company's website, I was invited to an aptitude test and language tests. Then I had a face-to-face interview with the HR and line managers of the company.

My career history

I have been working in Standard Chartered Bank in Shanghai since I graduated.

My advice to students considering work

The university education only provides students with some basic expertise. To prepare for their future career, students should proactively enhance their communication and organisation skills, as these skill sets can be applied in many different job roles.

What I do

I started my career in Standard Chartered Bank as a Management Trainee in China after graduation, and I have been assigned to different positions within the company to learn as much as possible. Currently I am working in the department of Operation Exchange Management, and my primary duty is to enhance the efficiency of internal operations.

Skills I use and how I developed them

Degree skills:
My Masters course in finance and business equipped me with some basic expertise about the financial industry.

What I like most

Although I may have to work overtime, I have learnt much from the position.
