A day in the life of a Project Manager & Researcher in China
Briefly describe the organisation you work for
Suzhou Education Association for International Exchange Association (SEAIE) was established in 1995.It is a non-profit social organization governed by Suzhou Education Bureau to carry out foreign education exchange. It is a member of China Education International Exchange Association and Jiangsu Education International Exchange Association.
What do you do?
1. Carry out seminar with foreign teachers (once every two weeks), and turn the project online after the epidemic, with 6 million person times of broadcasting by October 2020;
2. Conduct International education academic research (1 completed project and 3 open projects);
3. Research on government administrative documents and international education;
4. Coordinate and organize international education related activities for Suzhou students, such as EGC International Understanding Education Conference, future star English speech contest, PBL project-based learning contest, etc.
5. Analyze and evaluate the quality of international education related projects in Suzhou, master the teaching quality in time, and take effective measures to improve and improve.
Reflecting upon your past employment and education, what led you to your current career choice?
It is related to international education and I could design a lot of activities for local students according to what I have learned in York.
Is your current job sector different from what you thought you would enter when you graduated?
In the begining,I went to an insurance company to be an insurance broker. After a year,I found it is not related to what I have learned. Then I find an opportunity in suzhou,which is related to international education.
Describe your most memorable day at work
The first day I started as a project manager, I felt excited and nervous,because I have no experience before
Are there any challenges associated with your job?
The most difficult thing is to design activities which are suitable for local students. It IS REALLY different from any examples in the book.
