A day in the life of a New Business Sales Intern in the United Kingdom

Summer internship with Google in Dublin

What I do

Interned at Google in Dublin for 3 months with their New Business Sales Team.

My role included consulting and pitching c-level clients different Google products to aid their companies' online presence

Skills I use and how I developed them

People skills, sales skills, analytical skills and consultative skills - all of which were developed on the job.

What I like most

How dynamic and fast-paced the role was. Constantly speaking to different business owners plus I had total control over my pipeline of clients

What I like least

The majority of grad roles are in Dublin

What surprised me most

The amount of independence I had in the role.

My advice to students considering work

Be prepared to do research and expect the unexpected. Always have a backup plan, despite how confident you are about your chances for that role
