Victoria is a Communications Specialist with a broad range of experience in both the academic and charity sectors. She is embedded in several of the Centre’s research projects, particularly those using participatory methodologies, and supports the Citizen Science Research Group.
Victoria designs communication and impact strategies for research projects and uses a variety of media and channels to effectively engage audiences. Victoria is Communications Lead for the SAMHE (Schools’ Air quality Monitoring for Health and Education) project, investigating indoor air quality in UK schools, and for the related projects CHEPA (Classroom HEPA), SAMHE+HSVP and SAMHE+STEM.
Victoria has a background in wildlife conservation and environmental education. She holds an MSc in Wildlife Management from the University of Reading and a BA in Natural Sciences from the University of Cambridge. Early in her career she worked in southern Portugal for the charity A Rocha, then moving to work for the Church of Scotland as its first dedicated environmental officer. More recently, Victoria has worked as Network Facilitator for an international environmental history network, Communications Officer for a York church and Senior Ethics Administrator in the University of York’s Biology Department.
