Jessica joined SEI's York Centre in 2020 as a member of the Air Pollution and Climate Group. Here, she works on a variety of projects including the Climate and Clean Air Coalition (CCAC) initiative in Supporting National Action Planning (SNAP). Through her work, she will assist national and local governments and stakeholders in developing strategies which will simultaneously achieve benefits for climate and air quality, which will also help to achieve the sustainable development goals (SDGs).
Jessica completed her PhD at the University of Manchester, where she focused on air quality in Beijing. Specifically, she examined the interactions of air pollutants with radiation and the influence on meteorology and pollutant concentrations. Her work was part of a wider collaborative, interdisciplinary project, Air Pollution and Human Health, which aimed to further understanding of heavy pollution episodes and their health impacts in Beijing. Through this, Jessica has developed expertise in urban air quality modelling and measurement techniques and has specific interests in the health impacts of air pollution.
