Title of research
Analysis of the linkages between environmental change, conflict and food insecurity in Nigeria
Supervised by Professor Lindsay Stringer and Professor Andy Dougill
Research overview
The Nigerian agricultural systems grapple with complex enviro-conflict issues, and this affects the overall human wellbeing and national security. Assessing this complexity necessitates a food system approach as being utilised in this study to explore the interconnected components within and between the Nigerian agricultural systems, thereby providing a more comprehensive understanding of their interdependencies. The study aims to inform policy at all levels of government with the goal of restoring peace and security, as well as ensuring sustainable and improved livelihood security outcomes.
