Biography

I undertook my BA at Leeds Metropolitan University before moving to the University of Sussex to do my MA. A PhD at Durham followed before I came to York to become a lecturer in the Department of Philosophy.

Research

Overview

My research interests are in Post-Kantian practical philosophy (especially that of Fichte and Hegel), Rousseau’s moral psychology and political philosophy, and Contemporary Critical Theory.

Projects

  • Currently working on a translation of J.B. Erhard’s Apologie des Teufels (1795).
  • “Fichte, Transcendental Arguments, and Embodiment” (a paper on Fichte’s transcendental deduction of embodiment in the Foundations of Natural Right).
