Biography

I undertook my BA at Leeds Metropolitan University before moving to the University of Sussex to do my MA. A PhD at Durham followed before I came to York to become a lecturer in the Department of Philosophy.

Research

Overview

My research interests are in Post-Kantian practical philosophy (especially that of Erhard, Fichte and Hegel), Rousseau’s moral psychology and political philosophy, and Contemporary Critical Theory.

Projects

  • I am currently translating (with Michael Nance) J. B. Erhard's writings on revolution for Oxford University Press.
  • "J. B. Erhard on Natural, Law, Recognition, and the Right to Revolution" (a paper on Erhard's defence of the legitimacy of revolution)
