1) What can I pay for using the Online Payments service?

The University of York has a wide range of products and services available to purchase via the Online Payments service.

This includes Print Credit top-ups, official publications, award certificates, etc. sold via the Online Store.

2) Is the system secure? How much of my personal data do you store?

We take security very seriously and the system uses industry standard e-commerce security solutions to make sure that your details are carefully protected throughout all transactions.

The University maintains a record of what transactions you have made with the institution, just the same as we would if you paid by any other means, but we never store your payment details for any longer than needed to complete the transaction.

3) Are there any additional charges when using the Online Payments service?

No. We do not make an additional charge for using a credit card nor for any aspect of the Online Payments service.

4) Can I use the Online Payments service from abroad? What exchange rate will apply?

Yes, you can use the Online Payments service from anywhere in the world so long as you have a valid means of payment. If a currency conversion takes place, this will be at your card issuing bank's rate. You should check with your bank what this rate is and whether they may impose other charges for international transactions before using the Online Payments service.
