Spring Lane Theatre named in Honour of Prof. Mark Ormrod

The Spring Lane Lecture Theatre at the University of York's Heslington campus was name in honour of Prof. Mark Ormrod (1957-2022) on Friday 27th November.

On Friday 27th October at 6pm a naming ceremony was held at the Spring Lane Lecture Theatre in honour of Prof. Mark Ormrod (1957-2020).  Speeches were given by the current Dean of the Faculty of Arts and Humanities, Prof. Duncan Petrie, Prof. Helen Cowie (Dept of History),  Directors of the Centre for Medieval Studies, Profs. Elizabeth Tyler and Tim Ayers, Mark’s first PhD student at York, Dr Gwilym Dodd (University of Nottingham), and Mark’s partner, Richard Dobson, to an audience containing Mark’s immediate family (including his 94-year old mother), current and former colleagues, research collaborators, former students, and friends.
