Dilnoza Duturaeva receives the 2023 Silk Road Academic Award.

At a ceremony at Keimyung University in Daegu, Korea on 13-14 November, Dr Duturaeva (History/CMS) was presented with the 2023 Silk Road Academic Award.

Dr. Dilnoza Duturaeva (Department of History/Centre for Medieval Studies) received the 2023 Silk Road Academic Award from Academia Via Serica at Keimyung University in Daegu, Korea on 13th-14th November. The award ceremony was followed by her award lecture and a guiding tour in Gyeongju, the capital of the Silla Kingdom (57 BCE - 935 CE) and the eastern terminus of the Silk Road. As stated on the award plaque, the award was presented “in recognition of her exceptional contributions to Silk Road Studies and an unwavering dedication to the spirit of civilizational mutatio, expressed through her seminal work: Qarakhanid Roads to China: A History of Sino-Turkic Relations, published by Brill in 2022.”
 
The Silk Road Academic Award was designed this year to honour and acknowledge authors who have made significant contributions to the field of Silk Road Studies and aims to recognise 2 outstanding books annually.
