Posted on 17 December 2025

On your marks... get set…it's Medieval Bake-off time!

The CMS Annual Medieval Bake-off returned on 10 December and we were not disappointed with some exceptional bakes.

'Best Flavour Bake' went to Emilie James (CMS MA student) for their custard tarts.

'Best Medieval Recipe' went to Ellen Gallimore (English PhD) for their Anglo-Saxon hearth cakes.

A special thanks goes to our wonderful judges, who ate their way through lots of bakes (from left): Dilnoza Duturaeva (History), Alicia Maddalena (English) and James Lewis (Student Services Administrator).
