Posted on 12 December 2022

On 5 December the CMS Medieval Bake-off returned to the King’s Manor

Marisa Michaud (CMS PhD) stole the show, winning the ‘Showstopper bake’ for her cake “Colette of Corbie’s Vision of Hell”.

Bianca Chiacchia (CMS MA 2021-2) took home the ‘Best tasting bake’ prize for her medieval pear in wine syrup tart.

Cathy Jamieson (CMS MA 2021-2) was presented with the Garmonsway dissertation prize for achieving the highest dissertation mark of the MA in Medieval Studies 2021/22 cohort.

We would also like to congratulate MaryEllen Linnehan (Medieval Literatures and Languages 2021-2), who was unable to attend the bake-off, but has been awarded the Derek Pearsall dissertation prize for achieving the highest dissertation mark of the MA in Medieval Literatures and Languages 2021/22 cohort.

Thanks to our Bake-off judges, who took on their role in good fun: Sethina Watson (CMS Chair of the Board of Studies), Adam Hewitt (Deputy Head of Faculty Operations) and Jane Reed (King's Manor Security team).
