No Place like Home: Irish Writing in a Changing World

Fintan O'Toole is a columnist, literary editor and drama critic for The Irish Times.  He was drama critic for the New York Daily News from 1997 to 2001 and is a regular contributor to The New York Review of Books. His recent books have focused on the rise, fall and aftermath of Ireland's 'Celtic Tiger', and he has been a strong critic of political corruption in Ireland throughout his career. His theatre criticism includes books on Tom Murphy, Richard Brinsley Sheridan and Shakespeare. Most recently he was the editor of A History of Ireland in 100 Objects.  He is also currently Lecturer in Theater at Princeton University.

The lecture will be followed by an interview and Q&A hosted by Adam Kelly, on contemporary writing, austerity and neoliberalism post-Brexit.

A Reception will follow at 7.45pm.
