Biography
Yaprak joined the Department of Economics and Related Studies at the University of York in January 2022. Prior to that, she worked as an Assistant Professor in Economics at Newcastle University, and at Northeastern University - London. Yaprak is a Senior Fellow of AdvanceHE.

Research
Overview
My research sits at the intersection of applied economics and the scholarship of teaching and learning. My disciplinary work in macroeconomics focuses on financial markets, financial crises and regulation, and macroeconomic policy. Alongside this, my pedagogic research examines how inclusive, evidence-informed and applied approaches to teaching can enhance student learning, engagement and outcomes in economics and higher education more broadly.
Across both strands of my research, I am interested in bridging theory and practice by examining real-world economic challenges and by exploring how curriculum, assessment, employability and student-centred learning can enhance educational practice and the student experience.
