Profile

Biography

Xiaoying Gao is a PhD candidate in the Department of Economics and Related Studies, University of York. Under the supervision of Professor Andrew Jones and Professor Nigel Rice, her research topic focuses on the application of machine learning techniques to mental health inequality measurement and health policy evaluation.

She holds an MSc in Health Economics with distinction from University of York. Her dissertation (supervised by Prof. Andrew Jones and Dr. Apostolos Davillas) was condensed and published in Health Economics.

Previously, she graduated with dual Bachelor’s degrees in Preventive Medicine and Psychology from Peking University, China, and served as the Chairman of the Students’ Union in the School of Public Health at Peking University.
