German is a first-year PhD student in Economics at the University of York, under the supervision of Professor Luigi Sicilliani. His research focuses on the effects of policies implemented in the health sector, comparing private and public healthcare in Mexico. He combines empirical analysis with historical perspectives to understand how social norms influence economic outcomes.
German holds a Master’s degree in Economics and Public Policy from the University of York and a Bachelor’s degree in International Economic Relations from the Universidad Autónoma del Estado de México. Before beginning his PhD, he worked as the Head of Department at the San Mateo Atenco City Council in Mexico, where he led policy and cultural initiatives. He has also served as a Research and Teaching Assistant at the University of York.
Outside of his research, German enjoys playing classical piano, having trained at the Conservatorio de Música del Estado de México. He is also passionate about teaching and community engagement.
