Profile

Biography

I completed my MA Economics from the Indian Institute of Technology Madras, India and then switched to the field of Economic History, going on to do a research MSc at the London School of Economics. After that I worked as a Research Assistant at the Institute for Government in London for a year before starting my PhD in Economics at York in 2015.

My research interests are mainly focussed on colonial India, specifically on the interplay between institutions and human capital, and their contribution to long term growth and inequality. More generally, I am interested in the fields of macroeconomics, public economics and political economy.
