Seyi is a PhD student in the Department of Economics and Related Studies, supervised by Dr. Michal Horvath and Dr. Andrew Pickering. Her main research interests are in the areas of macroeconomics, human capital, and development economics. Her research broadly examines: i) deregulation in product and labour markets with optimal unemployment benefits; ii) efficiency and distortions in the presence of regulation; iii) the effect of regulation on macroeconomic performance.
Seyi obtained a masters degree in Economics, with distinction, from the University of York. Her dissertation examined fiscal policy procyclicality in developing countries. Seyi also holds a masters degree in health economics and health policy from the University of Birmingham and a Bachelors degree in Economics, with distinction, from the University of Essex.
