The formal Evening Reception is being held at the Mansion House, the official residence of the Lord Mayor of York. There will be drinks and a buffet at this reception. The Lord Mayor will be welcoming us to York.

Finding the Mansion House
To go from the Conference Hotel to the Mansion House for the formal reception on Thursday evening, go out of the main entrance to the hotel and turn right, you will be walking towards the City Walls with the river on your right.
You need to get up onto the road so you can cross the river by the bridge in front of you - to do this turn left just before you reach the bridge.
Walk up the road by the side of the bridge and then turn back on yourself when you reach the road.
Walk over the bridge, you are on Museum Street.
Take the first turn on your right, Lendal.
Lendal is where the red car is in the photo above (but it is very unlikely to be there when you walk it - in fact it is likely to be much more busy with cars and people than when Google took these photos). Costa Coffee is on the corner of Lendal as shown below.
Walk down this street, the City Main Post Office, the red brick building in the photo below, will be on your right just after the music shop.
Just after the Post Office you will reach a small square on your left. The Mansion House is on your right immediately as you enter this square - you can see the corner of the Mansion House in the photo above - it is the large stone building with red painted side right above the lorry (which is also unlikely to be still there!)
