Dr Alessandro Pellis joined the Clean Synthesis Technology Platform in the University of York’s Green Chemistry Centre of Excellence (GCCE) in October 2017 where he started a 2-years post-doctoral FWF Erwin Schrödinger fellowship (grant agreement J 4014-N34).

His current project focuses on the chemo-enzymatic synthesis of bio-based polymers and their post-polymerization functionalization.

Ale’s major research interests are:
• Enzymatic synthesis, degradation and surface functionalization of polymers
• Biocatalyst immobilization, optimization and characterization
• Chemo-enzymatic post-polymerization functionalization techniques
