Dr Martin Bates Highlights

• Royal Society University Research Fellow 2000-2008.
• Committee member of the British Liquid Crystal Society, 2003-

Martin Bates participated in the 2004 Royal Society MP-scientist pairing scheme. Martin spent a week shadowing John Denham, MP for Southampton Itchen and chair of the Home Affairs Committee and John spent a day with Martin to see the life of an academic.
