Wednesday 26 March 2025, 1.00PM to 2pm
Speaker(s): Professor John Wenger, University College, Cork
Highlights from recent laboratory and field studies performed by the Atmospheric Chemistry research group in Cork will be presented. First up is characterisation of biomass burning marker compounds during a wintertime air pollution episode and atmospheric oxidation of the key species methylcatechol.
This is followed by identification of the large range of VOCs emitted by Sitka spruce trees and studies on the atmospheric oxidation of piperitone in the new Irish Atmospheric Simulation Chamber. Finally, new results on emissions from ships in port will be presented, along with the associated implications for ongoing monitoring activities.
The event has been added to the Chemistry Events Calendar if you wish to copy to your own personal calendar.
