Graduate Research Seminar

This is a student led event, with a graduate research student from each year group presenting their work, offering opportunities for integration and networking across the Department.

The following Chemistry PhD students will each give a 15 minute talk about their research:

  • Introduction from the Chair, Tom Nicol
  • Freya Squires (James Lee/Jacqui Hamilton) - "Measurement of NOx and CO fluxes from a tall tower in Beijing"
  • Pedro Nunes (Derek Wann) - "The photo-induced dynamics of 1,2-dithiane - from molecular dynamics to ultrafast electron diffraction"
  • Tamara Mielke (Gideon Grogan) - "Fungal Peroxygenases for Regio- and Stereoselective Hydroxylation Reactions"
  • Josh Reid (Seishi Shimizu) - "Interactions In Protic Ionic Liquid Systems; fundamental theory and industrial applications"
