Synopsis:

• In his lecture ‘Synthesis of mirror image drugs’, Professor O’Brien will explore the synthesis of mirror image drug-like molecules, focusing on the design, synthesis and use of a new ligand for asymmetric synthesis.
• In his lecture ‘Self-assembling nano materials and drugs’, Professor Smith will explore the self-assembling of nanosystems and how this can be engineered to interact directly with biological systems, enabling the development of ‘nanomedicine’ methods such as gene delivery.
