Vijay GC is a Research Fellow in the Team for Economic Evaluation and Health Technology Assessment (TEEHTA). He joined TEEHTA in August 2017 from Health Economics Group at the University of East Anglia (UEA). Before UEA, Vijay worked in Nepal on behaviour change interventions in HIV prevention, and Maternal, Newborn and Child Health (MNCH) programmes with a particular emphasis on monitoring and evaluation, and for a short time with the Department of Information, Evidence and Research at the WHO Regional Office for Europe in Copenhagen.
Vijay holds a PhD in Health Economics from UEA and a double master’s degree in public health from three European institutions – the University of Sheffield-UK, University of Copenhagen-Denmark and EHESP French School of Public Health-France.
Vijay has worked on economic evaluations of complex (public) health interventions such as physical activity interventions in adolescents and adults, digital health and medical technologies for precision, personalised and person-centred healthcare. His research interest includes the use of decision analytic models in cost-effectiveness analysis, economic evaluation of alongside clinical trials, preference elicitation and value of information analysis.
As a Research Staff Liaison Officer, Vijay works with researchers and support staff across the university to support fellow researchers to pursue excellence in research and help in creating a supportive research environment.
