Research

Overview

My current role is as the Head of Genomics Laboratory in the Department of Biology– Technology Facility (TF). The Technology Facility is a state-of-the-art research solutions provider through the use of, and access to, a wide range of key bioscience technologies for research, training and technology development. The facilities provide a range of access options - from user led equipment utilisation to the Genomics lab dedicated expert staff undertaking experiments on their behalf. The Genomics lab also provide various training opportunities -including, but not limited to, one-to-one instruction, extended visits, tailored training, and hands-on courses. The Genomics lab is based on several key genomic technologies, including sequencing, genotyping and multiple microarray platforms.

My main research interests are in using the latest Genomics technologies to further genetic and genomics research in the field of plant and animal sciences. I am interested in pushing technologies to the limit and making them work in environments that are historically slow or difficult to analyse.
