Documenting your outcome
If the candidate accepts the verbal offer you should complete an offer of appointment form, which will result in a formal contract of employment being issues.

Conditions of appointment
Remember that any offer we make will be subject to certain conditions, which may include:
- confirming, or obtaining, their right to work in the UK
- satisfactory references
- Disclosure and Barring Service checks, for some positions
- health clearance
- the Academic Technology Approval Scheme
There may be other conditions of the appointment. You should be aware of these so you are ready to assist your candidate if they have questions.
In some non-standard recruitments the electronic form may not be appropriate. In these circumstances the Offer of appointment form (word) should be used.
Notifying unsuccessful candidates
You should provide unsuccessful and reserve candidates with an outcome via E-recruiter as soon as possible.
Recruiting managers are able to nominate one or more reserve candidates should your appointment be unsuccessful or the same post should come available again within the next six months.
Promptly notifying candidates that their application has been unsuccessful reflects positively on the University and is respectful of the time and effort invested by the candidate. Providing an outcome quickly means that stronger candidates are more likely to apply for other roles at the University.
